Co-op Researcher 2 – Regeneron

Regeneron is a leading biotechnology company that invents, develops, and commercializes life- transforming medicines for people with serious diseases. Founded and led for 35 years by physician- scientists, Regeneron’s unique ability to repeatedly and consistently translate science into medicine has led to numerous FDA-approved treatments and product candidates in development, almost all of which were homegrown in Regeneron’s laboratories. Regeneron’s medicines and pipeline are designed to help patients with eye diseases, allergic and inflammatory diseases, cancer, cardiovascular and metabolic diseases, pain, hematologic conditions, infectious diseases, and rare diseases.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Peptide Discovery Group at Regeneron, based in Los Angeles, is focused on identifying cyclic peptide binders against therapeutic proteins of interest. This Co-op researcher will be trained in standard peptide synthetic techniques and medicinal chemistry to synthesize and optimize lead compounds for approved research programs and targets.

KEY PROJECTS

The program will be composed of two research projects. (1) The researcher will take hit sequences from one target and advance through profiling and lead optimization. (2) The researcher will be given an opportunity to improve our processes through a technology development project.

PREFERRED TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Basic Chemistry laboratory skills and chemical hygiene
  • Chromatography using LCMS or HPLC
  • Purity analysis using MS and/
