MET Biotechnology develops technology platforms that enable multifunctional and programmable extracellular vesicle (EV)-based therapeutics.
Market Opportunity:
EVs are natural nanoscale carriers with potential for low immunogenicity, tissue targeting and engineered cargo delivery. EV-based therapeutics represent a fast-growing market, currently estimated at $200M in 2025 and projected to reach $1B by 2030 with 20–30% CAGR. Opportunities lie in drug delivery, regenerative medicine, oncology, and CDMO/manufacturing services.
Technology:
MET Biotechnology’s device platforms overcomes key challenges faced by current EV manufacturing and engineering – low EV secretion by production cell, time-consuming and inefficient process to engineer production cell for each kind of EV payload. MET Biotechnology’s EV BOOST platform utilizes light-based stimulation to increase production cell’s EV output by 1-2 log. MET Biotechnology’s EV LOAD platform is capable of loading various cargo from small molecule, siRNA to protein such as enzyme and antibody, into EVs at high efficiency while retaining cargo function.
Advantages:
- Increase EV secretion in production cells by 1-2 log
- Efficient and versatile cargo (small molecule, RNA and proteins) loading into EVs
- Rapid, scalable and GMP-compatible process
