The Next Generation Incubator

Millibatt makes rechargeable lithium-ion batteries in millimeter-scale that last 10x longer than existing technologies.

The poor performance of existing small battery technologies has been a road block for small electronics. With newly emerging applications in health, IoT and wearable electronics, there is an evolving need for batteries that can be made in small, customized shapes while maintaining and exceeding existing energy densities. Millibatt offers a solution by using a microstructured 3D electrode geometry, which enables higher power and larger active material loading in small volumes. By adapting semiconductor processing techniques to the battery industry, Millibatt can leverage foundries for low capital "fabless" development and manufacturing of its batteries.
