Paralos is developing the first-in-class phage-drug conjugate drug delivery platform, with lead asset targeting drug-resistant infections.
Market Opportunity:
Drug-resistant Gram-negative infections drive sepsis and pneumonia, extending ICU stays and costs; many last-line antibiotics are limited by toxicity. The sepsis therapeutics market was ~US$3.95B (2024) and the antibiotic-resistance market ~US$8.7B (2023). Paralos focuses on hospital-acquired infections where targeted delivery can improve outcomes and safety, and our platform can expand across indications and drug classes.
Technology:
Paralos converts proven drugs into differentiated targeted therapies using a scalable phage-based conjugation platform. Engineered M13 phage provide (1) high drug loading, (2) programmable binding to bacterial targets, and (3) a repeatable manufacturing process in E. coli. This enables a pipeline strategy: start with high-value hospital infections, then expand via “plug-and-play” swaps of targeting ligands and payloads across pathogens and indications.
Advantages:
- Modular “plug-and-play” platform
- High payload density
- Re-targetable to pathogens
- Scalable E. coli manufacturing
- Partnerable across indications
Development Stage:
- Pre-clinical
